As experts dedicated to the science and advancement of Ear, Nose and Throat medicine and surgery, the UTHSC ENT surgeons hold faculty positions at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where they educate the next generation of medical professionals. In addition, the faculty actively participate in innovative translational, basic science, systems-based and outcomes research, and construct new scientific ideas from conception to publication.

It is this dedication to research, education and world-class, patient-centered clinical care that led to the formation of the UTHSC ENT Center of Excellence in 2017 by the Department Chairman, M. Boyd Gillespie, MD, MSc, FACS. Dr. Gillespie is building an academic core of providers with advanced fellowship training in various aspects of ENT to address the most specialized and challenging otolaryngology issues. This academic core will partner with a growing group of outreach ENT providers who can deliver fast, efficient, cost-effective care for more straightforward ear, nose, and throat disorders. Together, this growing team of faculty members and staff across various channels and locations in the Mid-South, combine to deliver excellence in Ear, Nose and Throat medicine and surgery in the a vast array of specialty areas.
